Meep logo —Steven G. Johnson 15:14, 21 Oct 2005 (EDT)
The clock represents time domain, the grid represents finite differences, and the fading of the grid represents the illusion of continuity in Meep. The background is the radiation pattern of a point source in 2d (with PML boundaries). The time shown on the clock is 8:18, representing course 8 (physics) and course 18 (mathematics) at MIT.
